FORMER CALDWELL TEACHER ARRESTED RETURNING TO U.S.

A former Caldwell teacher has been arrested at the Mexico border on a warrant out of Burleson County.

Back in September 2017, 24-year old Aracely Sauceda turned herself in to the Burleson County Jail on charges of an improper relationship with a student, after school and county officials found evidence of a relationship with a 16-year-old boy.

She posted a $50,000 bond and was released the same day.

According to the Burleson County District Attorney's office, further investigation led to an indecency with a child sexual contact charge.  Sauceda was never formally indicted and a warrant was automatically issued for her arrest.

After posting bond on the original charge, Sauceda went to Mexico.  Last Wednesday, Sauceda was arrested as she was re-entering the United States.

Sauceda was turned over to the Hidalgo County Jail and bonded out Friday.

The former Caldwell Spanish teacher is expected to appear in court next Monday (3/19) at 9 a.m.

  1. So if after posting bond she went to Mexico. Then arrested when she came back why allow her to post bond again. Would she be a flight risk?
