FOUR AGGIES INJURED AND A WRONG WAY DRIVER KILLED

A wrong way driver was killed in Harris County early Sunday when he struck a Jeep  Liberty filled with four Texas A&M students heading back from spring break.

Reports from the Harris County Sheriff’s office say Jon Fontana was driving his Toyota Camry the wrong way on highway 290 near Cypress  when he struck the Jeep at 2:30am, injuring the four students.  Injured were Denise Martin, who was identified as the driver, Scott Baumgarten,  Sarah Lemay and Franklin Kingsley.

The four college students, all in their early 20s, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston where they are all in stable condition.

Fontana was declared dead at the scene.

The accident comes exactly one year after another fatal crash involving Texas A&M students happened on highway 290.
