FOUR COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENTS BATTLE GRASS FIRE

Four Washington County fire departments battled a large grass fire in the northeast portion of the county Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, the Brenham Fire Department was called to 8200 Randermann Road to help fight a grass fire.  Firemen from the Prairie Hill, Meyersville and Washington Volunteer Fire Departments were already on site battling the blaze over 10 acres of land and brush.  The fire extended into a wooded area before it was extinguished three hours later.
