FOUR KILLED IN I-35 WRECK FRIDAY MORNING

Authorities say four people have died in a massive fatal wreck caused by a motorist driving the wrong way on Interstate 35 south of Austin, early this morning.

The wreck involved three vehicles and was triggered by one traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-35 near the city of Kyle.

A Kyle municipal spokesman says two men, a woman and a baby in a minivan died at the scene shortly after 1 a.m. Two other children in the minivan are hospitalized with serious, but not lie-threatening, injuries.

Authorities say the driver of a Honda Civic traveling in the wrong direction is hospitalized in critical condition.  The driver of a pickup also involved in the wreck was treated at the scene.

Northbound lanes were closed for several hours but have since reopened.
