Two vacant houses were fully engulfed in flames, while two other homes were damaged in an attempt to set them on fire early Saturday morning. There were no injuries reported in correlation to the fires.

At 2:29 a.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 phone call reporting a house on fire on N. Monroe Street in La Grange. When the La Grange Fire Department responded to the scene, they found the house fully engulfed in flames.

While the Fire Department was still at work extinguishing the house, a second fire was reported on Loehr Road in the Mullins Prairie area. When the La Grange Fire Department arrived on location, they found another house fully engulfed. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office then received calls reporting fire damage to two more vacant houses. The houses, located in the Fritsch Auf area in La Grange, had damage from someone attempting to start a fire.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek is advising anyone with information about these fires to report it to Fayette County Crime Stoppers at 979-968-8477 or the Sheriff’s Office at 979-968-5856. Fayette County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible for these crimes.
