icon-armed-robberyFour people are in custody after an armed robbery this (Friday) morning at a convenience store in Brenham.

Brenham police say a store clerk at Tootsie’s (located in the 2100 block of South Market Street) made a 911 call at approximately 10 a.m. saying that the store had just been robbed at gunpoint.

According to the store clerk, three males entered Tootsie’s with firearms and demanded money. The suspects then fled in a vehicle.

Brenham Police Officer Cpl. Tommy Kurie located the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. The suspects fled in the vehicle, traveling east on Highway 290.

The Brenham Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Waller County Sheriff’s Office pursued the vehicle until it exited in the area of Hegar Road in Waller County. The three suspects, plus the getaway driver, attempted to flee on foot. However, the suspects surrendered peacefully when surrounded by authorities.

The suspect’s names have not been released, but police have said all four have been charged with aggravated robbery.

  1. I have said it once and I will continue to say it, “Crime doesn’t pay, but those who commit crimes will!” Awesome job BPD!!!

  2. Thank God the clerk, patrons, drivers, and officers were unhurt.
As for the lowlife scumbags, too bad they didn’t drive off into the Brazos.

  3. These guys need to be held in custody under at least $500,000.00 USD. This needs to be stopped, and a strong message sent. Doggone shame.
