FOUR PEOPLE ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES OVER THE WEEKEND

  

Four people face drug possession charges after three incidents in Brenham over the weekend.

Friday, just before 10:00 p.m., Sergeant Steven Eilert of the Brenham Police Departmen, conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Jr Pkwy.

The driver, 19-year old Yaquelyn Castelan, of Austin, was found in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and also minor in possession of alcohol.

Castelan, was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail.

Sunday morning, just before 1:20, Officer Eddie Martinez along with Blinn Officer David Spittler were on a routine Foot Patrol in the 1000 block of Green St.

During the patrol, located 34-year old Soklarng Mom of Brenham inside his vehicle.  After investigation, Officers located Marijuana, a methamphetamine pipe with residue, and a firearm.

Mon was placed in custody and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone, Possession of Marijuana in a Drug Free Zone and Unlawful Carrying Weapon.

And, Sunday, just before noon, Officer Kejan Mehlhorn was dispatched to the 500 block of East Blue Bell Rd in reference to a theft.

The suspects 35-year old Jessica Rios and 40-year old Teresa Schwartz, both of Brenham were pulled over.

Further investigation revealed that Rios was driving a vehicle while her license was invalid and was also in possession of a controlled substance.

Schwartz was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were arrested and transported to the jail.

  1. As a resident of this community I am aware that several individuals in this report are suffering from chronic active addiction to drugs. Oftentimes the first stage of recovery involves contact with law enforcement and this can afford the person time to get clean and consider a better way to live. I’m glad to see the police are removing these people from potential harm to themselves, even if it’s for a brief moment. That may be all it takes to save a life!
