      1. The Judge sentenced Mr Sparks to ten years prison. Then after he spent about 6 months there, granted his Motion for what is called Shock Probation and let him out. The District Attorney’s Office argues for prison time the entire process. This was not a plea bargain.

      2. The DA’s facebook page says the following:

On March 27, 2017, defendant pled guilty. On July 6, 2017, a sentencing hearing was held with no agreement and the Court sentenced the defendant to 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division. Upon defendant’s motion, the defendant was released by the Court under Shock Probation and on December 21, 2017, the Court sentenced him to 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division probated 10 years, court costs, $180 lab, $50 crime stoppers fee, 200 hours community service restitution, drug offender education program, drug/alcohol evaluation and treatment, provide DNA sample, urinalysis. In the companion case, Sparks was also sentenced to 10 years deferred adjudication by the court on July 6.
