Plans are being finalized for a fundraising dinner for Dalton Dunfield, a Brenham High School Junior who broke his spine in a weight lifting accident at the High School.  The accident happened on January 22nd and Dalton underwent emergency spinal surgery that same day.  He has been undergoing inpatient physical therapy at Memorial Hermann TIRR in Houston and just returned home this week.  Fundraising organizer Aurbrey Eikenhorst says that Dalton is doing well and returned to school Wednesday:

The fundraising dinner has been set for May 12th at the Firemen’s Training Center.  Tickets will be $15 for the sirloin and chicken dinner and will go on sale at several locations in mid-April.  There will be both a live and silent auction during the fundraising dinner.  Tee-shirts are also being made to help with the fundraising and will be on sale with the tickets.

Dalton has limited movement in both of his legs, but not enough to walk.  He will continue with outpatient therapy, traveling to TIRR in Houston several times a week.  A Go Fund Me account has also been set up for Dalton at GoFundMe.com/GoDalton
