GAS LINE RUPTURES NEAR LAKE SOMERVILLE

  

A fire that ignited after an early-morning gas line rupture near Lake Somerville, has burned itself out.

Burleson County emergency crews were called out around 3:00 a.m. to the 9400 block of County Road 132 near Deanville when the line ruptured.

Energy Transfers Gas Company officials say the area was secured and the line burned out late Wednesday afternoon.  Repairs to the line are underway.

Company officials say the line has been rerouted.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.  There are two homes nearby the rupture, but they were not damaged.

Witnesses say an intense orange glow could be seen in the sky from several miles away.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the accident.
