GAS UP 3-CENTS PER GALLON

AAA Texas reports the average price of a gallon of gas in Texas is up three cents this week, at $2.08 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel.

That price is five cents more per gallon compared to this day last year.

In Brenham, the average price per gallon is just over $2.07.  Several stations still have gas at $1.99 per gallon, while there are also several stations as high as $2.15.

Of the major metropolitan areas, drivers in Dallas are paying the most on average per gallon at $2.19, while drivers in San Antonio are paying the least at $1.99 per gallon.

The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.27, which is one cent more than last week and eight cents higher than the price per gallon at this same time last year.

Analysts say if demand stays on pace and wholesale crude oil prices increase, consumers will likely see gas prices trend higher through the end of the summer.
