The Brenham Cubs football team led 10 Homecoming Queen candidates, 11 Homecoming King candidates, dozens of floats with the riders tossing candy on the streets of Brenham last (Wednesday) during the Annual Homecoming parade.
It was a Mardi Gras theme on a warm October evening, so many of the participants sported masks and colorful beads to celebrate and to rev up the spirit for Friday night’s game against Montgomery.
The Brenham Cub Marching Band had the large crowd in downtown singing along with the fight song.
The evening was especially exciting for a newcomer to Brenham High School. Dr. Joey Schoener is a new assistant principal at the High School, and was thrilled to be there now after being in many other exciting places.
( The festive evening ended with a short and spirited pep rally.
The Brenham High School Homecoming game is with the Montgomery Bears Friday night at Cubs Stadium. KWHI will have the pre-game show beginning at seven pm.
