GIDDINGS EDC ANNOUNCES SEVERAL LARGE PROJECTS
The Giddings Economic Development Corporation has been busy recently with several large projects. The Dime Box Distillery has signed a contract to utilize part of the railroad freight station in exchange for constructing at manufacturing facility next door. Giddings EDC Director Tonya Britton explains:
The EDC also assisted two business in locating in Giddings. Davam Urgent Care received a $25,000 grant to build a new urgent care facility in the Giddings Plaza. Davam will utilize part of the space recently vacated by Hibbett Sports. They also provided a $20,000 grant to DigTech to relocate from Bastrop to Giddings. Their new location will be on County Road 133, just inside the city limits. Britton points out that these projects have been developing for several years and a lot takes place behind the scene:
