GINGERBREAD AUCTION TO BENEFIT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY TO BE HELD TONIGHT

Habitat for Humanity will have its 12th Annual Gingerbread House Auction tonight at 5:30 at the Unity Theatre.

The Gingerbread Houses were on display at different businesses during the Downtown Christmas Stroll on Friday.

The event has helped raise over $30,000 over the past 12 years, which helps Habitat for Humanity build homes for low income families.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that provides an ecumenical Christian mission to provide affordable housing to persons and families in Brenham and Washington County.

Willy Dilworth of Habitat for Humanity says that this might possibly be the last year of the Gingerbread House Auction, due to the difficulty of finding suitable lots and finding credit-worthy, low income client families that make enough income to make the monthly payments required to receive a home.
