LADY LIONS ACCEPT LEADER DOG CHECK

The Washington County Ladies Lions Club will meet for their second Monday meeting August 10 at noon at the Cannery in downtown Brenham, and will accept a check from The Leader Dog for the Blind, which was awarded at the recent District Leadership meeting in Weimar by President LaVerne Krumrey and second vice president Shirley Moehlmann to James Heinrich, Director of LDFTB.

The donation was designated as; $500 regular Club donation to LDFTB, $500.00 to the Rochester Plaza Brick project at the LDFTB location and $1,500 for the LDFTB Kennel building project.

The Lady Lions will also hear from Katherine Havet, a Brenham High School student sponsored by the Lady Lions, who recently attended Girls State.

Havet will tell the club member what goes on during the weeklong Girls State event.

The club will receive a bone patch for their banner and a miniature brick.  This donation is made possible from proceeds of the 2015 Prize calendar sales.

The club also donated to the rebuilding of the 4-H booth at the Washington County Fairgrounds in honor of Lion Pam Zwahr- incoming fair president, the backpack for kids project, fans for the elderly collection and donated 121 pair of used eyeglasses.

The public is welcome, reservations are not required.
