GOODMAN OUT AS NAVASOTA FB COACH

KBTX television is reporting Navasota ISD Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick relived Athletic Director and Head Football Coach  Patrick Goodman of his duties.

Goodman has served as Navasota's AD and head coach for the past two seasons, after 11 seasons as an assistant coach for former head coach Lee Fedora.

The district released a statement Thursday morning, stating they have opened the position of Athletic Director/Head Football Coach and will begin the search immediately to fill that position.

In the interim, Coach Tommy Gates (Asst. AD and Head Girls Basketball Coach) has been named interim Athletic Director. Offensive Coordinator, Coach Ian Walraven, will fill in as interim Head Football Coach.

The district will begin accepting applications by mail on Monday, January 8, through Friday, February 2. Interviews will be conducted the weeks of February 12 and 19, with a proposed start date of Monday, March 5, for the new head coach and athletic director.
