GOVERNOR SUSPENDS HOTEL TAXES

  

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has suspended the collection of all state and local hotel occupancy taxes for persons affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Now through September 6^th, the hotel tax waiver applies to persons with a home address in one of the counties the Governor has declared a disaster area.  Also, relief workers dispatched to one of those counties are also exempt from paying hotel occupancy taxes.  In the surrounding area those counties include Fayette, Colorado, Austin, Waller and Fort Bend.
