GRASS FIRE SUNDAY ON SCHLOTTMAN ROAD

An unattended burn pile caused a grass fire in northern Washington County Sunday afternoon.

The Brenham Fire Department and the Prairie Hill Volunteer Fire Department were called out at 1:45 p.m. Sunday to the intersection of Schlottman Road and Old Independence Road.  It took firemen about 40 minutes to get the grass fire under control.  Approximately 20 acres were burned in the fire.
