GRIMES CO. FAIR CONTINUES IN NAVASOTA

  

The 2018 Grimes County Fair continues this week at the Fairgrounds in Navasota.

Wednesday is Senior Citizens’ and Children’s Day at the fair.  Tonight’s events include Professional Horse Cutting at 7:00 and a Teen Dance at 8:00.

Livestock judging concludes today.  So far, Wyatt Kimich of Anderson had the Grand Champion Market Broiler; Colton Kimich of Anderson showed the Grand Champion Turkey; Landry Cunningham of Iola had the Grand Champion Lamb; Jenna McDougald of Iola showed the Grand Champion Goat; Micah Mock of Navasota had the Grand Champion Bred Rabbits; and Jadyn Coleman of Anderson showed the Grand Champion Purchased Rabbits.

Fair President Rodney Floyd says the event is all about supporting the youth of Grimes County…

 

Tomorrow is highlighted by the Livestock Premium Sale at 6:30 in the Main Hall.  The Buyers’ Social and Supper and the announcement of the Scholarships and Awards is set for 5:30.

Floyd says many local students benefit from the fair…

 

Friday features the Ranch Hand Rodeo at 6:00 and a Dance with Jeff Woolsey and the Dancehall Kings.

Events close out Saturday with Mutton Bustin’ at 6:30, Bull Buck-Out at 7:30 and the closing night dance with Clayton Gardener at 9:00.
