GRIMES CO. LOOKING FOR HOMES FOR DOZENS OF CATS

Authorities in Gimes County are looking for homes for more than 100 cats, after the longtime owner of a cat shelter died suddenly this week.

The cats now need a new place to live after owner of The Cat’s Cradle, Gail Allen lost her battle to cancer this week at age 63. The no-kill shelter had been her passion since 1998.

County officials are trying to find the cats permanent homes for free.

Lynn Holleran who has been volunteering at the Cat’s Cradle for 12 years, says there are some 40-to-50 that are truly adoptable, some that are semi-feral and a few that are very feral.  But, she says, health wise they're all in very good health.

The cats have received medical care while at Cat's Cradle.

Wednesday afternoon the Aggieland Humane Society stared taking pictures of the cats.  They are assisting Fluffy's Friends who will take applications for adoptions.
