GRIMES CO. RELAY FOR LIFE RAISES OVER $55,000

The Grimes County Relay for Life took place on Saturday, raising over $55,000 for the American Cancer Society.

“We are so grateful to have volunteers who have such a passion for the American Cancer Society's goal of saving lives and curing cancer” said Beth Anne Ryhne, Community Manager for Relay for Life.

The event included the Survivors Lap, the Caregivers Lap, and the Luminaria Ceremony. In addition, each team taking part in the Grimes County Relay for Life had a booth offering food and other items.

“Relay For Life events like the one in Grimes County are what will cure cancer in our lifetime, and provide funding for lodging assistance, travel assistance, and other services, as well as cancer research and education” said Rhyne.

KTEX’s Holly Ryder was there broadcasting live from the Friendly Country Cruiser.
