GRIMES CO. SCHEDULES PLANNING MEETINGS

  

Grimes County commissioners have given the go-ahead for a series of town hall meetings and planning sessions to identify the changing needs for the county and to implement a planning process to follow through with those needs.

The Grimes County Strategic Planning Steering Committee will partner with the Sam Houston State University Center for Rural Studies.

The meetings will focus on county services and infrastructure.

The first meeting was held Thursday night in Anderson.  The next meeting is this coming Thursday at the Town Hall in Plantersville; Future meetings will be held: Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Civic Center in Bedias; and Thursday, Oct. 22, at the City Hall in Navasota. A fifth meeting will be held for county employees Thursday, Oct. 29, in Anderson.

Volunteers from each of the meetings will be selected to attend three more planning sessions from which a formal county strategic plan will be developed.
