GRIMES CO. SHERIFF’S MAKE ARREST AFTER CRIME STOPPERS TIP

  

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man accused of robbing a Dollar General Store, thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip.

The crime happened on Friday, January 13th at the store located in the 22000 block of Highway 90 in Bedias.

Authorities say two clerks were robbed at gunpoint by a black male, wearing dark clothing and a bandana around his face.

Investigators received an anonymous tip through the Grimes County Crime Stoppers Program about the suspect. The tip led to further investigation and corroboration of the anonymous tip through witnesses, along with positive identification of the suspect by the victims.

Dante Dewayne Owens, of Bedias, was arrested and taken to the Grimes County jail this week, where he is currently being held on criminal charges stemming from warrants of two counts of aggravated robbery.
