GRIMES CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE SEIZES $1 MILLION WORTH OF MARIJUANA

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office has made a large drug bust, finding an estimated $1 million worth of pot and marijuana plants.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies discovered a multitude of marijuana plants at four separate residences in Bedias on December 14th and 15th.

In total, 590 marijuana plants and approximately 456 pounds of useable marijuana were discovered.

The finding stemmed from a theft investigation in the Peaceful Place Subdivision on Bedias Drive. When Deputies approached the home, the strong odor of marijuana was apparent. A search warrant was obtained and investigators discovered several plants in multiple rooms of the home.

A subsequent investigation led authorities to discover more plants and usable marijuana at three homes- a residence in the Peaceful Place Subdivision, a home on CR 134, and a residence at CR 130.

Four men were arrested in conjunction with the investigation: Yovanys Claro-Reyes, Jose Perez Reyes, Oman Castro-Portilla, and Yudevis Galban-Rodriguez.

  1. Interesting that everyone arrested is Hispanic, wonder how many of them where here illegally. The person who stated that this amount of marijuana would be legal in other states is mistaken. In the states that have made marijuana legal only personal use marijuana is allowed to be possessed without a license issued by the state. Just because marijuana is legal doesn’t mean it is not regulated and the illegal possession of this quantity of marijuana will still get a person locked up. In regards to Texas voting blue in the next election and changing things for the better, maybe we should give the next President of the United States Donald Trump the opportunity to take office, work for four years making America Great Again getting rid of failed Obama policies, before making any prediction about the next election. As a member of the deplorables that voted for Donald Trump I find it highly unlikely that Texas or the rest of the United States will vote blue in the next election.

    1. White people in texas get busted for growing marijuana all the time. If these people had a growing permit in another state they would absolutely not go to jail. We can not afford to sit around and wait to see what trump is going to do. We must take action now. Seriously name one thing in your life that was so horrible the last years that made you hate Obama and what is your hero in shiny toupee going to do to help save you? Obama wasn’t the worst president considering he had republicans block and halt all the progress he tried to make. Grow up and get your head out of the sand. You will have to pay less taxes the more money we generate as a state. Legal marijuana means more money, more tourism less crime less prisoners. I still don’t see what your problem is with growth and progress. this isn’t the wild west anymore or little house on the prairie. the world is evolving every day and it’s sad to see the people up top care about their own agenda more than the ones of there citizens

  2. in other states where this would be legal and profitable, texas still is on the slow end of things and wasting valuable taxpayers money to bust and investigate people growing a harmless plant in their home. and then making us pay money to jail them. ridiculous. I don’t buy the fact that they were on theft investigation when they came to this house. they had to have been tipped off. you don’t randomly stumble across a million dollars worth of marijuana. legalize now or be left in the dust when other states revenues go up due to the legal sale and the medicinal properties of the extracts. it’s a shame in a state this large with all the resources we have we still are ignorant on the subject of marijuana and thc.

    1. PLEASE MOVE TO ONE OF THOSE STATES you glorify and leave us deplorables to our ignorance.

      1. Texas will vote blue in the next election; I think I’ll just stay here in my home state and vote to help change it. Perhaps you’d feel more comfortable somewhere with more laws and more conservative, traditional values, such as Iran, or Saudi Arabia?
