GRIMES COUNTY FAIR BEGINS THIS WEEK

  

The 2018 Grimes County Fair begins this week at the Fairgrounds in Navasota.

The festivities kick off Wednesday, May 30, at 7 PM, with the Horse Show-Top Team Show.  The Judge Creative Arts will open Thursday at 1 PM, and the Horse Show will take place later at 7 PM.  The Judge In-County Beef Heifer Show opens at 9:30 AM on Saturday.  That will be followed by the Rodeo and Crowning of the 2018 Fair Queen at 7:30 PM, and the Kick-Off Dance in the Main Hall with Adam Hood at 9 PM.  Sunday will round out the weekend’s events with the Kid’s Rodeo in the Main Hall at 5 PM, followed by the Adult Rodeo at 7:30 PM.

Highlights of the next week include the Premium Sale on Thursday, June 7, Dance with Jeff Woolsey and the Ranch Hand Rodeo on Friday, June 8.  The fair will conclude on Saturday, June 9, with Stick Horse followed by Mutton Bustin, Bull Buck-Out, and the Dance with Clayton Gardner.

Season Fair Passes are available starting at fifteen dollars, with Day Passes starting at seven dollars on non-entertainment nights.  Tickets can be purchased from the Fair Queen and Jr. Princess Contestants: Kirstie Busa, sponsored by Charm and Sewing; Jadyn Coleman, by Anderson 4-H; Alexis Gorrell, by Anderson-Shiro FFA; Lauren Wheaton, by Iola 4-H; Rachel Brast, by Anderson 4-H; Demi Harrington, by Navasota Jr. FFA; and Sophia Willis, sponsored by Iola 4-H.
