GRIMES COUNTY INSTITUTES BURN BAN

A 90 day burn ban has been issued for Grimes County, after Emergency Management Coordinator David Lilly told the Grimes County Commissioners Court that there was a significant increase in factors that could cause wildfires.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the 100’s for the next week, with little chance of rain.

The ban will stay in effect until there has been enough rain to reduce the risk. Anyone violating the ban could be charged with a misdemeanor offense.

Grimes County joins Robertson, Madison, Leon, Houston and Walker Counties for areas with a burn ban in effect.
