GRIMES COUNTY LOSES ANOTHER COMMISSIONER
The Grimes County Commissioners have lost another member.
Commissioner JR Green, who served Precinct 1, passed away Monday after a 13 month battle with liver and esophageal cancer.
Green served the Bedias area, and owned several businesses over the past of four decades.
He was elected to his first term as commissioner in 2012.He attended almost every meeting until May 1st, when his condition worsened and he was moved to hospice care.
The death comes on the heels of the sudden death in March of Precinct 4 commissioner Pam Finke, who died of a blood clot to her lung.
Green was 65 years old.
