GROUNDBREAKING FOR HAZEL LAWSON ADAPTIVE SPORTS COMPLEX
Ground was broken this morning for the new Hazel Lawson Adaptive Sports Complex at the Brenham State Supported Living Center. The sports complex was made possible by a $500,000 gift earlier this year from Houston businessman Larry Lawson, whose late sister, Hazel, was a resident at the Brenham center.
The complex will feature an all-weather baseball field which surface will allow for wheel chair movement. It will also have several shaded areas for participants. The complex will be open to participants through the Miracle League and other organizations serving children and adults with special needs at the SSLC and surrounding communities. City parks users and the Washington County Little League Association also will have the opportunity to use the field during inclement weather.
