HAPPY, HEALTHY HORSE PROGRAM OFFERED TO BRAZOS VALLEY HORSE OWNERS

  

On January 27, Brazos Valley horse owners can take part in an event that will focus on their horse’s health.

The Keeping a Happy, Health Horse Program at the Thomas G. Hildebrand, DVM Equine Complex at Texas A&M in College Station, from 5:30pm-9pm and will be free to those who register by January 23rd. For those registering after January 23rd, the cost will be $10 at the door. Seating is limited to the first 150 people to register.

Admission to the event will begin at 5:30, with a light dinner being served, which will be followed by presentations at 6pm.

Station One will be led by Dr. Wesley Bissett, heading up a veterinary emergency team. Bissett is a veterinarian for large animal clinical service with the Texas A&M Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Services.

Station Two will feature Dr. Larry Redmon, AgriLife Extension state forage specialist, who will discuss hay quality and pasture management.

Station Three will be led by Kindra Radar, a technician III with the Texas A&M Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She will be discussing equine reproduction at TAMU.

A tour of the Texas A&M equine complex will be available, and three hours of continuing education units will be available upon request.

The program is put together by the Brazos Horse Committee of the AgriLife Extension Brazos County office.
