HARDIN SIMMONS INSTRUCTORS TO PRESENT MASTER CLASS AT BLINN

  

Three Hardin Simmons University professors will present a recital followed by a master class at Blinn College’s Finke Recital Hall at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23.

The recital hall is located in the C.F. Schmidt Building on the Blinn-Brenham campus..

Christopher Hollingsworth, Lynnette Chambers and Melody Rich will perform before observing and critiquing Blinn College music students. The performance, accompanied by Abigail Payne Sanders, and master class are free and open to the public.

Students Brandy Poyer, Heather Snow, Britney Prause, Sterling Miller, Tia Brown and Krystal Harris will participate in the master class.

“This is a great opportunity for our students to get a different perspective from three masters of their craft,” said Dr.  Joel Plaag, Blinn College choir director.

Blinn and Hardin Simmons have developed a partnership over the years as a number of students have transferred from Blinn to Hardin Simmons. This will be the first time Hardin Simmons has presented a master class and recital at Blinn.

Blinn’s Music Program is part of its Division of Visual & Performing Arts, which offers courses in architecture, arts, music, theatre and communication studies.
