HEB AND FAITH MISSION SUPPORT SOUPER BOWL OF CARING

We all know that the Super Bowl football game is coming up in a couple of weeks but the largest grocery store chain in Texas is currently having its own Souper Bowl of Caring.

The Brenham HEB Store on South Day is taking part in an effort to feed the hungry in Washington County.  Dock Williams of the Brenham HEB says this is a continuation of the chain’s emphasis on community service..

HEB is partnering with Brenham’s Faith Mission for this effort.  The Rev. Randy Wells of Faith Mission says shoppers can pick up grocery bags worth either five or ten dollars and purchase them for the Souper Bowl. Wells says these bags will be delivered to those in need.

The Souper Bowl of Caring is continuing through the day of the Super Bowl, February 2nd

HEB is the largest privately owned company in Texas, with over 350 stores and 76,00 0 workers.  According to the chain’s website, more than half of the grocery shopping in Texas is done at HEB Stores.
