H*E*B RECALLS BEEF STEW PRODUCTS

  

 

H-E-B stores are recalling almost 5,000 pounds of beef stew product that may be contaminated with plastic and metal.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspection Service announced the boneless beef stew items were produced December 13, of this year.

FSIS said cases containing six, five-pound cryovac plastic bags containing fresh beef stew meat intended for H-E-B stores with case code 69404 are effected.

Re-packaged various weight beef stew meat trays that also contain separately wrapped vegetables that are marked with establishment 7231 on the side are also effected.

Also being recalled are re-packaged various weight beef stew labeled as H-E-B brand: Beef Stew Meat Tenderized RP, Beef Stew Meat RP, Beef Stew Meat VP, Beef Stew Meat-CR VP, Beef Stew Meat Tenderized VP, Beef Stew Meat CP, and Beef Stew Kit. The products have establishment "EST. 3D" next to the USDA mark of inspection or Est. 7231 on the side of the tray.

These items were shipped to HEB retail stores throughout Texas.

The problem was discovered Dec. 24th, by the H-E-B grocery store chain in San Antonio when employees opened boxes containing the multi-vac packages.

There have been no reports of any illnesses or injuries.
