HELICOPTER MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING IN GRIMES COUNTY

Yesterday (Thursday) evening an Army Apache helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Grimes County.

According to Grimes County Sheriff, Don Sowell, after leaving from a Bryan location Thursday afternoon on its way to a Conroe location, the helicopter experienced a hydraulic leak during flight and was forced to make an emergency landing in an empty field along County Road 215 south of Anderson.

Mechanic crews responded to the scene to help with repairs and someone with law enforcement responded to guard the aircraft overnight. The aircraft will likely be removed sometime today. (Friday)

It is reported that two people were on board but neither were hurt.
