HEMPSTEAD MAN SENTENCED TO JAIL TIME FOR BRENHAM CHASE
A Hempstead man has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle.
44-year old Marlon Roshone Bryant was arrested back on May 10th after leading authorities on a brief chase.
Brenham Police were attempting to serve Bryant with several outstanding felony warrants from nearby counties, when he fled in his vehicle.
Authorities say Bryant drove his vehicle into a field in the 2800 block of Highway 290 East then fled on foot, but was captured a short time later by Brenham’s K9 unit.
Bryant was sentenced by District Judge Carson Campbell.
Also in 21st District Court:
25-year old Enrique Hernan Ortiz was placed on six years’ probation for Online Solicitation of a Minor. Ortiz was also fined $750, must perform 100 hours of community service and must abide by sex offender conditions.
45-year old Geoffrey Hink of Chappell Hill was placed on five years’ probation for Injury to the Elderly. Hink was also fined $500.
18-year old Cody Mims of Benham was placed on four years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Mims was also fined $1500 and ordered to perform 160 hours of community service.
21-year old Grant Devila-Castillo and 20-year old Julian Oda, both of Richmond, were each placed on three years’ probation and fined $1500 for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Both were also ordered to perform 160 hours of community service.
