HEMPSTEAD WOMAN ARRESTED FOR CHILD ENDANGERMENT

A Hempstead woman faces child endangerment charges in Brenham after allegedly leaving her children in a car with no supervision.

Tuesday afternoon, Brenham Police Officers responded to the 100 block of W. Main in reference to children being left in a car, unattended.

Officer Ashley Burns stated she responded to the location after receiving a call about a child being in a locked car unattended. Another caller said a second small child had crossed the street and was talking to an employee at the Visitors Center.

The mother of the children, 24-year old Ninja Symone McCoy of Hempstead, arrived at the scene after leaving the Washington County Adult Probation Office, saying she had left the children in the car while she took care of some business.

The child in the car was a one-year-old female; the child that crossed the street was a three-year-old female.

McCoy was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Abandoning or Endangering a Child.
