HIGH-SPEED RAIL UNVEILS PLANS FOR STATION IN GRIMES CO.

The developers of a proposed high speed rail have released new details on their planned passenger station in Roans Prairie, which would service Brazos Valley residents.

Texas Central hopes the project will one day service the Dallas-Houston corridor.

The billion-dollar investment would include a terminal, to be built on 60 acres in Roans Prairie, along Highway 30 just west of Highway 90.

The Brazos Valley station would be the only midway stop on the route.

Texas Central's plans call for a shuttle service that will directly link Texas A&M University to the station, as well as other nearby connections.

Officials claim the bullet train project will create 1,000 full time jobs when railway operation starts—124 of those jobs will be in Grimes County.

The land where the high-speed rail stop would be located near Roans Prairie.

The federal report says property values around the Brazos Valley station are expected to increase because of the new developments.

They claim the project also will provide new tax revenue, paid by the railroad company on its facilities.  Texas Central says all three stations- Houston, Dallas and the Brazos Valley- would be environmentally friendly, minimizing energy and water usage, and promote indoor air quality.
