HIT-AND-RUN DEATH NEAR NAVASOTA
Authorities in Grimes County are investigating a hit-and-run fatality, Monday morning on Highway-105, just east of Navasota.
DPS troopers, Texas Rangers, and Grimes County Sheriff deputies are investigating a body, found Monday morning in the grass near the westbound shoulder of 105.
35-year old Michael R Bell of Austin was pronounced at the scene, just after 11:00 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 5 a.m., Bell was walking westbound on the shoulder, when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene of the crash.
This investigation continues. Authorities are asking for anyone with information to contact the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office at 936-873-2151.
