HOUSTON RETIRED FIREFIGHTERS HONOR SEN. KOLKHORST
The Houston Retired Firefighter Association has honored local State Sen. Lois W. Kolkhorst.
Kolkhorst has received the group’s legislative appreciation award by for her support of firefighters and first-responders in the state legislature.
Kolkhorst was presented the award at a reception held in Katy in her honor, with more than 100 retired firefighters on hand, including many in Kolkhorst’s district.
In accepting the honor, Kolkhorst said, “Firefighters are true heroes who face danger and death every day and risk their own lives to save ours.”
She went on to say, she was, “deeply humbled to receive this award” and would do her best to protect public pensions, be it firefighters, law enforcement, teachers or others.
