HUNTSVILLE MURDER SUSPECT TURNS HIMSELF IN

A 19-year old murder suspect has turned himself in to Huntsville Police.

Garius O’Bryant was being sought for his part in last Friday’s shooting death of 61-year old Ray Charles Smith.

69-year old Joyce O’Bryant, 69, was also taken into custody after the shooting.

Shortly after 6 p.m. Friday, officers with the Huntsville Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 1400 block of Sycamore Avenue. Smith died while en route to the hospital

Earlier in the afternoon, a domestic incident occurred in which authorities say Smith was the aggressor.

Approximately an hour later, officers responded to the shooting call in which Smith had been shot multiple times.

Joyce O’Bryant was released from the Walker County Jail on Saturday on a $75,000 bond.

Garius O’Bryant remains in Walker County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
