INTERVIEWS SET WITH POLICE CHIEF CANDIDATES

  

 Interviews will take place this week with seven candidates for Brenham police chief.

Assistant City Manager Rex Phelps, the former Chief of Police, says the seven semi-finalist were selected from a pool of over 80 people who applied for the position.

The five-member interview committee will meet with the candidates throughout the week.

Phelps, Brenham Fire Chief Ricky Boeker, interim police chief Dant Lange, City Human Resource Manager Susan Nienstedt, and Bryan Police Chief Eric Buske make up the interview committee.

Phelps says once the committee gets the list down to two or three finalist, there will be background investigations and a series of more interviews.

Phelps said the city hopes to announce a top candidate by mid-September.
