IOLA MAN ARRESTED FOR SETTING HAY BALES ABLAZE
The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for setting bales of hay on fire, following a land dispute.
The Sheriff’s Office reported 40-year-old Christopher Barnett, from Iola, set fire to seven hay bales on County Road 129 earlier this month. Workers for Barnett’s neighbors had moved the hay to what Barnett saw as his property.
Deputies say Barnett confessed to the crime when he was arrested last week. Barnett was charged with arson, and is out on bail.
