Long serving Precinct Four Washington County Commissioner Joy Fuchs says she wants to serve longer. She announced today (Monday) that she wants a fifth term on the Commissioners Court.
Fuchs, who was first elected to the seat in 1998 says she and the rest of the Washington County Commissioners have done a lot in the past 16 years but an experienced hand is needed to keep up the work. She cites the work on the interlocal agreements with the City of Brenham as an exampl
Fuchs is a Republican and has not drawn any opposition yet.
Fuchs says she wants to continue serving on the Brazos Valley Council of Governments where she has served on the Executive Board Chair.
Fuchs says there are many challenges and numerous learning experiences throughout the past several years and believes together, the Washington County Commissioners has completed many projects. She says she wants to keep taxes in check and wants to scrutinize every item on the budget.
Fuchs is a lifetime resident of Washington County. The Republican primary is in March.
