KOLKHORST ‘EXCITED AND READY TO WORK’ IN NEW CHAIR POSITION

State Senator Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) says she is excited and ready to get to work as the chair of the powerful Senate Committee on Administration.

Kolkhorst was appointed to the position last Wednesday by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. Her appointment stands as the only chair position to be changed by Patrick during this legislative session.

Kolkhorst replaces state Sen. Kelly Hancock, a Republican from North Richland Hills who now will chair the Committee on Business and Commerce.

Notably, Kolkhorst is the first female Senator to hold the chairmanship on the Senate Committee on Administration, something which she calls a “distinct honor”.

Kolkhorst says she will be working hard with committee members and the Senate to make sure the system works really well this year:

Kolkhorst says she is new to administration , but she is looking forward to leading the committee:

Additionally, Senator Kolkhorst has been named a member of the Senate Committees on Finance, Health & Human Services, Transportation, and Agriculture, Water & Rural Affairs.
