State Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst will run unopposed for her seat, while local State Representative Leighton Schubert will have an opponent in the November general election.

At the Monday deadline to file for the primaries, Kolkhorst did not draw an opponent in the District-18 State Senate race.  No Democrats have filed for the post, providing no opponent for Kolkhorst in November’s General Election.

Meanwhile, the man who ran against Kolkhorst in the special election for State Senate a year ago, Gary Gates, is one of four Republicans running for Railroad Commissioner.
