KWHI HISTORY SEGMENT TO FOCUS ON LOCAL MUSICIANS AND WRITERS

This month KWHI is celebrating 70 years on the air. As part of the anniversary, we are taking a look back at our history each morning at 8:10 before the Country Store.

Today (Monday) we will listen to a portion of three songs from local musicians and writers. In years past, it was not uncommon that a local artist would bring by a recording of a song to see if we would play it on the air.

Songs we will hear today include: “I Love to Cuddle You” by Mrs. Otto Jaster, “End of the Road” by Leon Schwartz and The Country Boys, and “An Orchid on My Pillow” by KWHI founder Tom S. Whitehead Sr.

Those recordings will be added to our website under the History tab later today. Also available are numerous old photos and videos from past years at KWHI.
