LAKE SOMERVILLE READY FOR SUMMER

There is a promising start for the summer swimming, fishing, and boating season at Lake Somerville.

Recent rains have put the Lake levels close to capacity.

Reservoir Manager Emmett Attaway says last year the lake was three to four feet below the full level.  This year the Lake is just a foot or so below the 238 foot capacity.

The Lake levels were boosted with a heavy five inch rain less than two weeks ago.  Since then the watershed has put in even more water.

He says all the campgrounds are open.

Release gates at the lake are closed, although Attaway says that could be changed with a decision from the Brazos River Authority.
