LAS AMERICAS OFFERS CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICAN DISHES

Shannan and Jr. Canales

If you have grown tired of the traditional Tex-Mex offering at local restaurants but like the Latin-American tastes in your meal, then the new Las Americas restaurant may be for you.   Las Americas is a new Latin Cuisine restaurant located at the corner of Commerce and St. Charles Streets in Downtown Brenham.  They offer dishes from different Central and South American countries including El Salvador, Columbia, and Cuba.  One of the owners, Shannan Canales explains some of the dishes they serve and where each is from:

Canales says that the idea for the restaurant came from the travels with her husband, Junior, and the places they enjoyed eating.  She says that is reflected not only in the dishes they offer, but in the look and feel of the dining area.  Las Americas is holding their grand opening today (Friday) and Saturday.  They are open Monday through Thursday from 11 to 8, Friday from 11 to 9, Saturday from 10 to 9 and Sunday from 10 to 8.

  1. Had the Chilean Sea Bass at lunch; perhaps the most delicious meal I’ve had in Brenham to date. Just a gem of a restaurant and it’s here in our wonderful little town. Have recommended to friends and all have been wowed with the quality and presentation. Don’t wait!

  2. So stoked for this fresh perspective to cuizine in Brenham, Tx. A much needed flair in this historic town that is both classic and contemporary. The atmosphere is delightful and light, yet sophisticated. The menu consists of many of my personal favorite Latin dishes with flavors that pop and are eloquently plated. The wine selection is nothing short of impressive. Hands down one of my new favorite lunch, brunch and dinner spots in Brenham!

  3. Great!! Something different! I think y’all are going to do fine!! Good luck!

  4. Noticed the last time I was downtown and tried today. Excellent food and service. Will be back with guests.

  5. Want to come this weekend! I need to know whether you serve mixed drinks like Pina colada as we are celebrating someone whose favorite drink is Pina colada.

    1. They have a beer and wine license so they only serve beer and wine; however they do have mimosas which come in different flavors.

  6. It’s a great addition to downtown and the food and service is top notch! Thanks for doing something different and investing in Brenham! This is going to be a great success without a doubt!

    1. I no longer live in Brenham but when I visit I will definitely come try it out. And I wish you all the best.
