LAW ENFORCEMENT GRANT COULD HELP IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN TO LOWER CRIME
Austin County Judge Carolyn Bilski says her county’s Community Development Plan, include efforts to reduce crime and those efforts involved more than just law enforcement agencies.
Judge Bilski says that’s why the Austin County Commissioners will be applying for grant funding through the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.
She says this could mean between $30 and $40,000 to supplement law enforcement salaries but would also aid in the promotion of mentoring programs, Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA.
Judge Bilski says the County Commissioners are also concerned about vehicle maintenance for the EMS. The Commissioners are expected to ask for vehicle maintenance proposals for the EMS.
The Commissioners will also accept a donation to the EMS.
The Austin County Commissioners meet Monday at nine at the courthouse in Bellville.
