LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST BLUE BELL TWO YEARS AFTER LISTERIA OUTBREAK

Blue Bell Creameries has been named in another lawsuit concerning listeria.

George and Sharon Pearson, of Missouri City, filed the lawsuit last week in a Fort Bend County district court.

The suit alleges George Pearson became severely ill after eating Blue Bell ice cream in April of 2015.

That same month Blue Bell shut down production in its Oklahoma facilities and recalled some of its products. Eventually, the recall shut down all of Blue Bell’s plants.

The lawsuit says George Pearson’s illness was a direct result of Blue Bell’s negligence and that the company failed to practice cleanliness in its facilities.

The Pearsons are seeking at least $200,000 in damages for health care expenses and anguish.

The lawsuit is one of a number of suits filed after the listeria outbreak.

  1. If this person incurred all of these expenses and illness I agree. This was no little mistake. People got sick and even lost their life due to negligence. Hopefully it will not happen again but they are responsible for what happened. They knew there was a problem. And hid it. Take responsibility and do it right.

  2. one of a number of lawsuits? it’s just crazy what people will do to get money from a company that has such an excellent past but just mess up once and all hell breaks loose. hang in there bluebell

  3. I’m not real sure as to this stories validity. For one why wait 2 years+- to file the lawsuit? And what’s to stop everybody and their brother from filing this same sort of lawsuit.? This story doesn’t pass the smell test.
