The Washington County Chamber of Commerce is once again offering the opportunity to learn the skills of leadership in the Leadership Washington County class.
Chamber of Commerce President Page Michel says this is a prestigious program committed to educating, training and motivating existing and emerging leaders in business, civic organizations and government in order to build more effective skills for the future benefit of Washington County.
The 201415 Leadership Washington County program begins in August with a brief orientation meeting. After that the program features day long session held monthly through May.
Michel says this program requires a commitment of time. The selection process involves about 25 participants chosen from an outstanding pool of leaders who apply for the program, representing the diversity of our area. Multiple participants from the same organization are allowed but it is one of the factors considered in the selection process. Application for the program are being accepted now through July 18th.
Michel says this should be an especially exciting series of programs, seminars, presentations and tours. The highlight could come in February when the participants go to the state Capitol and observe a day in the session of the Texas legislature.
